While club members do workout, workouts are not officially sponsored by the College Gymnastics Club or the University. They are instead hosted by Santa Cruz Sports Central, one of the local gym clubs in town. As such, members of the College Gymnastics Club who wish also to participate in workouts, must do so as a member of Santa Cruz Sports Central.

Membership dues for the College Gymnastics Club for each academic quarter are listed here.
This allows gym members to participate with the College Gymnastics Club for free or attend any of the regularly scheduled adult classes for an additional tuition.
All you need to do is stop by the gym at the beginning of any of the workouts and they can register you as a gym member. Interested participants are welcome to try their first workout free of charge.

Summer Quarter 2010 Workout Schedule

Monday Tuesday Wednesday Thursday Friday Saturday

7:00-9:00 pm

7:00-9:00 pm

**First workout of the Summer 2010 quarter is Monday, August 9, 2010**

"What skill level is required?" None! While we all work towards competitive routines, the College Gymnastics Club includes members from all skill levels, from absolute beginners, who are still working on their forwards roll, to seasoned pros with competitive experience.

"When can I join?" At anytime throughout the year. Beginning, middle, or end of a quarter; it doesn't matter. Just stop by the gym, tell the front desk you're interested in your first free trial with the UCSC group, and we'll take it from there.

"What if I can't make all the practice times?" Then you make the times you can. Hey, we're all students, and we know how student schedules can conflict with the workout schedule; so come on the days you can, and miss on the days you can't.

"Do I have to be affiliated with UCSC to participate?" Yes. Undergrad and grad students, along with UCSC faculty and staff are welcomed. Friends and community members, however, are welcomed to sign up for one of Santa Cruz Sports Central's adult classes instead.

"What are the workouts like?" Workouts encompass all eight competitive events: Floor, Pommel Horse, Rings, Vault, Parallel Bars, and High Bar for men; and Floor, Beam, Uneven Bars, and Vault for women. Emphasis is placed on skill development and routine construction, but always while maintaining a relaxed enjoyable attitude.
